Firewalls - Lock out intruders

A firewall limits network access on your computer ONLY to those application components that you want to allow to get access to network resources. Think of it as a bouncer at a door - the firewall will decide what data gets in and what can safely go out of your system.

If you're surfing the Internet without a Firewall you're exposed to getting your computer hacked and potentially losing data - or worse - getting your identity compromised.

Windows XP introduced a built-in firewall. It's better than running around completely naked but it does not compare to commercial industry-strength products. Below you will find a brief list of firewalls we currently recommend, bearing in mind that surfing adult websites creates special requirements to security and privacy.

Agnitum Outpost

Outpost is the first firewall coming with a plug-in architecture and an Outlook style look. It is very light weight and does not waste a lot of system resources. You can download your trial copy here.
